ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA services and expertise covers all aspects of planning, design and construction of bridges; from the conceptual and design stages through to the development and implementation of a project, which comprehends the technical assistance during construction. The projects include several types of structural solutions for both new and existing structures, in relation to strengthening, rehabilitation or widening works.

As well as being a highly specialized and recognised market leader in bridge design, ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA has also recently expanded its expertise to other areas of Engineering and the Environment.

ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA has been developing its activity both in Portugal and abroad, particularly in Mozambique, Colombia, Guinea Bissau and Angola where in 2009 an office was opened in the capital, Luanda, in order to consolidate the company’s activity in the country which dates back to the 1990s.

ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA is an engineering company, whose focus is the design of bridges and specialized structures, having delivered over 500 projects in this field.

Founded in 1982 by Armando Rito, who has over 40 years’ experience in bridge design, ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA is an international award winning company which has been involved in some of the greatest and most iconic bridge design projects in Portugal. These include large and complex projects such as the “Arade” Bridge in Portimão, the “Miguel Torga” Bridge in Régua and the “Vila Pouca de Aguiar” Viaduct. ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA has also been responsible for a number of International projects such as the “S. Vicente” Bridge in Guinea Bissau and the 4th of April Bridge over the “Catumbela” river in Angola.

ARMANDO RITO ENGENHARIA brings together a highly qualified, highly skilled and highly motivated multidisciplinary team of professionals led by experienced civil engineers. The company is frequently involved in project partnerships with other well regarded National and International companies such as EEG, Campenon Bernard, Trafalgar House, JMI, Eiffage and others.
