“Nespreira” viaduct The viaduct is a continuous 15 span superstructure comprising two independent and parallel open section girder decks. The total length of each deck between the abutments is 626m. The viaduct, with a 35.10m wide platform, has a 54m span crossing the railway and 42.4m on each of the other spans. The viaduct crosses the valley at a maximum height of 40m.

Each deck has a maximum width of 17.20m, with two 3.40m height girders. The decks were cast “in-situ” using the span-by-span method with a self-launching girder.

Some of the foundations are direct and some indirect on moderate to a much altered granite bedrock.

Construction was completed in 2005.
