“Vizela” Valley viaduct This viaduct crosses the “Vizela” River Valley at a maximum height of 55m and comprises two parallel, continuous bridge decks, each one with a total length of 413m.

Both decks are prestressed concrete box girders cast “in situ”. The viaduct was built by the span-by-span method with an under-slung self-launching girder.

The piers have a maximum height of 50m and their shafts have a hollow octagonal constant cross-section with direct foundations on granite formations.

Construction completed in December 2005.
